Printing on translucent stock makes 4-color images appear very washed out. So it was a big challenge to make sure the outdoor scene printed on the sleeve - that also shows through the translucent envelope - was strong and dramatic. The Keyline Graphics Inc. strategy deployed was the addition of opaque white ink to the image, then printing it as part of a 5-color process. Because this enhancement could be added inline, it was an inexpensive solution that significantly improved the impact of the finished mailer.
